Price Transparency

As of January 1, 2021, we now offer the ability to determine out-of-pocket expenses through our web estimate tool, as well as the ability to see the self-pay and insurance rates of the services we offer.

Cost to the patient

Prices are the same for all patients regardless of insurance status or types of coverage. Please note that our prices do not reflect what you will ultimately pay out of pocket. You will likely only be responsible for a percentage of this cost.

There are several different factors that determine your cost for health care services you receive, including the following:

  • Insurance coverage and benefits: This is the amount that your insurance provider has contractually agreed to pay Rush University System for Health for services you receive. Your insurance benefits determine the types of services that your insurer will cover.
  • Out-of-pocket costs: This is the portion of the cost of care that you are responsible for through co-pays, deductibles and coinsurance. Insurance providers typically define the maximum amount that a patient will pay in a given benefit year.
  • Quality of care: At Rush University System for Health, we pride ourselves in providing you with the highest-quality care, and we invest in the resources we need to ensure that you receive the best care possible.
