What Does It Mean to Be a Rush Nurse?
Nurses are able to change lives — every day. Sometimes that change has a direct impact on a medical outcome. And sometimes it is as simple as holding a patient’s hand and reassuring them during a stressful time in their lives. Nurses are present for some of the best and most challenging times in people’s lives. They are healers. They are comforters.
At Rush, nurses' contributions are vital. They help ensure the highest quality of care and best possible outcomes for our patients. Magnet designation — a distinction held by all three Rush hospitals — is powerful evidence of nursing excellence at Rush. Rush nurses are also committed to the diverse communities Rush serves and extend themselves into these communities to support health promotion and disease prevention.
