Ildemaro González, MBA, has joined Rush as chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer.
In this role, González will lead the planning and implementation of systemwide DEI strategies in collaboration with Rush’s Diversity Leadership Council, Rush University Chief Diversity Officer Princess Currence, DSW, and other leaders across Rush.
He will work closely with Human Resources and business leaders to integrate DEI principles into workplace culture, workforce development, marketplace engagement and community outreach.
In addition, González’s leadership will be instrumental in advancing health equity initiatives. He will guide efforts to identify, prioritize and address disparities in patient care access, experience and outcomes, furthering Rush’s commitment to equitable, patient-centered care.

González was chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer at Emory Healthcare and the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. Before that, he was vice president and chief Inclusion and diversity officer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
