Oncology Infusion Nurse 2: Hematology/Oncology
Infusion nurses with at least one year of experience, who hold ONS/ONCC certification or earn it within 6 months. They are responsible for infusion and supportive care but may also serve as charge nurses.
Oncology Infusion Nurse 2: Pediatrics
Infusion nurses with at least one year of experience, who hold APHON certification or earn it within 6 months. They are responsible for infusion and supportive care but may also serve as charge nurses.
Advancement opportunity
Oncology Infusion Nurse 3
OIN2s are able to grow in their role at RUSH through RUSH’s “Clinical Ladder”, which provides promotional opportunities for RNs. OIN3s are oncology infusion nurses with the most experience, holding one or more certifications. They are responsible for coordinating and providing patient care along with education and leading evidence-based care and quality initiatives.

Many infusion nurses will work in RUSH’s state-of-the-art infusion space in the Rubschlager Building. Designers of the new space relied on feedback from both staff and patient perspectives. Secure, comfortable and private rooms provide everything that patients need and that nurses need to care for them.
