In addition to providing participants at Waterford Place Cancer Resource Center with skin care classes, personal consultations and oncology-focused facials, esthetician Geralyn O’Brien is committed to raising awareness about and funds for the center. She recently won $10,000 for Waterford Place by entering — and winning — the Compassion category of the Skin Games 2020, an international competition for estheticians.
To recognize Geralyn’s contributions to Waterford Place, a wall plaque was installed in the spa room where Geralyn provides facials and skin care consultations to participants. The plaque reads, “In honor of Geralyn O’Brien.”
Rush Copley Foundation Vice President Alex Pope presented the plaque. “Since we first opened our doors more than five years ago, Geralyn has been such a good friend, doing excellent work on behalf of Waterford Place,” he says. “It is our honor to recognize and commemorate her in this way.”
Geralyn’s passion for oncology-focused skin care education and relief is fueled by her experiences interacting with those affected by cancer. Surprised and emotional to be honored for her work, she says, “I am thankful to be a part of Waterford Place’s mission to support whole-person care.”
