Licensed cosmetologist and medical hair loss expert Jenny Burns has worked at Waterford Place since the very first day it opened in 2016.
At Waterford Place, she guides women through their hair journeys – from customized wig fittings to first haircuts and styling as their hair begins to regrow after cancer treatments. She also facilitates the Simply Beautiful hair program which aims to empower women to manage the side effects of their treatments. Now, during the pandemic, she helps participants virtually to achieve their hair care goals.
Hair loss is a common side effect of cancer treatment and one of the most difficult ones to manage. As a cosmetologist and medical hair loss expert, Jenny says, “I love helping a participant recapture her sense of beauty and confidence again. It’s what I love best about what I do.”
In addition to her work with Waterford participants, Jenny owns and operates her own private hair salon called Art at Work. In her free time, she enjoys painting, photography and “growing a glorious garden.”
Jenny is committed to her work at Waterford Place because “Waterford is truly invested in supporting cancer patients and their families.” She says, “I have witnessed firsthand lives changed when solutions are discovered for seemingly impossible situations.
