Clinical Trial Protocol Description:

The purpose of this study is to determine which viruses are present in the cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) of patients with various neurological disorders and infections. CSF will be collected as leftovers from a lumbar puncture. A blood sample of 30 mL (about 2 tablespoons) will also be taken to identify which viruses were unable to cross the blood-brain barrier.

Clinical Trial Eligibility Criteria:

In order to participate you must meet the following criteria:

  • Have a neurological disorder or suspected CNS infection.

You will be excluded from the study if any of the following criteria apply to you:

  • Are pregnant.
  • Are cognitively impaired.
