Clinical Trial Protocol Description:

A large study conducted in community-dwelling older adults without cardiovascular disease (CVD) or dementia will demonstrate the benefit of statins for reducing the primary composite of death, dementia, and persistent disability and secondary composites including mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and cardiovascular events.

Clinical Trial Eligibility Criteria:

In order to participate you must meet the following criteria:

  • Are more than 75 years of age.
  • Do not currently have dementia, disability or clinically evident cardiovascular disease, including those with frailty, diabetes, and multi-morbidity.
