The FRESH Study: An Investigational Drug Trial Seeking Patients with Alcoholic Hepatitis

Study for an investigational drug vs placebo for patients who are in the hospital with severe alcoholic hepatitis. Patients must be willing to travel to Rush's downtown campus for 7-8 follow-up visits once discharged from the hospital.

In order to participate you must meet the following criteria:

• Have a history of excess alcohol use for greater than or equal to 6 months.
• Have become jaundiced (yellowing of skin) within 8 weeks of hospital admission. 

You will be excluded from the study if any of the following criteria apply to you:

• Have taken systemic corticosteroids or products containing obeticholic acid in the past 30 days .
• Have been diagnosed with malignancy within the 2 years prior to Screening.
