Urological conditions in children can be emotionally and physically challenging, but they are also treatable — and often curable. If your child is facing a urological condition, our experienced pediatric urology team will be there for you and your child every step of the way.
The pediatric urology program at RUSH University Children’s Hospital specializes in both the common and the complex — from bedwetting and recurrent bladder infections to congenital abnormalities and urinary tract blockages.
We are dedicated to providing family-centered care. That means we will work closely with you and your child to develop a personalized treatment plan that focuses on your child’s quality of life. Our goals are to cure your child’s condition whenever possible, manage their symptoms and educate you and your family on the condition and treatment plan.
We also address the behavioral component of certain conditions, partnering with pediatric psychologists and child life specialists, to help your child.
Remarkable Care for Kids
Expertise in complex urologic conditions
Our pediatric urology program specializes in treating complex conditions, including bladder problems associated with neurologic disorders and complex reconstruction procedures to address congenital abnormalities of the genitals. We also work with pediatric surgeons and pediatric oncologists to treat pediatric cancers of the bladder, kidneys and testicles. RUSH’s pediatric urology team has a high cure rate for treating these rare conditions.
A wide range of treatments
We work closely with each child and their family to determine the best treatment approach, which may include active observation, medical therapies or minimally invasive surgery.

If your child needs to be hospitalized as part of their treatment, you can feel confident that our full-service Children’s Hospital’s inpatient pediatric unit caters to kids’ and their families’ needs.
