I try my best to put my patients at ease. And then working together, I create a surgical plan to help alleviate their issue.
My name is Manuel Sanchez-Casalongue and I am a general surgeon at Rush Copley Medical Center. I think it is very important for patients to have access to a surgeon who can speak the same language they speak. I was born in Argentina and I came to the United States to study. I started my medical career here, and part of my job now at Rush Copley is to help patients have the best surgical care possible. I know that many times patients have referrals and primary care physicians, but sometimes they don't, in which case if they have a surgical question, they can come see me to assess whether surgery can contribute to or help their life. It is very important to trust the surgeon and I hope that, by speaking your same language, I am able to help you with that. If you are being seen by another surgeon or if you have a question about advice given to you, you can also come to our team for a second opinion. I specialize in general surgery, abdominal surgeries — like the gallbladder, the appendix, the colon — and also hernia and anti-reflux surgeries.
Mi nombre es Manuel Sanchez-Casalongue y soy un cirujano general en Rush Copley Medical Center. Me parece muy importante que los pacientes tengan acceso a un cirujano que pueda hablar el idioma que ellos hablan. Yo nací en Argentina y vine aquí a los Estados Unidos a estudiar, hice mi carrera de medicina aquí, y parte ahora de mi trabajo ahora en Rush Copley es ayudar a los pacientes para que tengan el mejor cuidado quirúrgico posible. Se que muchas veces los pacientes tienen referidos, tienen doctores primarios, pero otras veces no los tienen, en cuyo caso si tienen una pregunta quirúrgica pueden venir a mi para que los vea, y evaluar si una cirugía puede contribuir o ayudar a su vida. Es muy importante tener confianza con el cirujano y espero por eso al poder hablar en su mismo idioma poder ayudarlos con eso. Y si tiene también otro cirujano o tiene alguna pregunta de alguna recomendación que se le hizo, también pueden venir a nuestro equipo para que los veamos. Yo me especializo en cirugía general, cirugías del abdomen, como la vesícula, el apéndice, el colon, y también cirugías de hernias y de anti-reflujo.
