About Me

Gaurav Shah, DO, is a general and interventional cardiologist at Rush. He earned his medical degree at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology at St. John Providence Health System. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.

With over eight years of experience providing care to patients in the greater Fox Valley area, Shah specializes in cardiovascular care for a variety of conditions, including heart failure, valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease. He also specializes in preventive cardiology to help patients reduce risks of developing heart and vascular disease.

Shah believes in working with patients to provide evidence-based and guideline-directed therapies to treat heart and vascular disease. He relies on a team approach, working with specialists from other fields to address his patients’ whole health needs and well-being.

Shah sees patients and serves as the medical director for the cardiology service line at Rush Copley in Aurora, Illinois. He also has outpatient practices at two locations in Aurora and one in Yorkville. When he is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their two daughters, listening to music and going for walks.
