Dr. Ahmed is exactly the doctor we have needed ever since the pancreatic cancer diagnosis. He is honest and forthright about the patient's health condition and treatment. He asked questions to confirm understanding. He was completely present with the patient and exuded compassion and concern as he treated the patient and caregiver as people and not as "work." He didn't ignore the patient and talk with only the caregiver, which the previous doctor has done. He sat close to the patient and educated the patient about her condition. He should train other doctors in his bedside manner.
