Alzheimer's Disease Caregiver Study

The Rush University College of Nursing is participating in a study testing an 18-month skill-building and health-promotion program for caregivers that includes home visits and regular telephone calls.

Participants must meet the following criteria:

• Be age 40 or older
• Provide care for a family member with Alzheimer's disease at least 10 hours weekly for a minimum of six months
• Be willing to engage in behavior that promotes their own health

Knee Cartilage Lesion Study

The Department of Orthopedics is conducting a randomized study to evaluate the safety of an implantation system compared to microfracture for the surgical treatment of articular cartilage lesions of the knee.

Participants must meet the following criteria:

• Be between age 18 and 65
• Be a candidate for cartilage repair on the femoral articular surfaces
• Be physically and mentally willing and able to comply with postoperative and routinely scheduled clinical and radiographic evaluations
• Be willing and able to follow a standardized rehabilitation protocol
