• A focus on patient comfort and convenience: Many eye procedures can now be done in our clinics in a matter of minutes using minimally invasive approaches. This means that you will not need a long recovery period. For instance, cataract surgery is now done using laser technologies. The actual procedure only takes 15 to 20 minutes per eye. You will have little to no pain and, within a day, you will notice a major improvement in your vision.
• The latest advances: Rush has invested in the latest technologies to ensure we can diagnose and treat your eye conditions accurately, successfully and safely. A high-definition 3D surgical platform (NGENUITY) allows our ophthalmologists to perform intricate cataract, cornea, glaucoma and retinal surgery. Optical refractive analysis aberrometry improves cataract lens implant selection, while femtosecond laser technology enhances cataract surgery. Optical coherence tomography angiography makes diagnosis of glaucoma and macular disease more precise.
• Active clinical trials: Many ophthalmologists at Rush are also researchers who test and evaluate new treatments for macular degeneration, uveitis (eye inflammation), corneal dystrophies and infections, cancer-related eye symptoms and other eye conditions.
