Some days, getting to a doctor's office doesn't fit into your schedule. E-Visits at Rush are an easy way to connect to a health care provider, on your smartphone or computer, when you need care for common conditions. With an E-Visit, you’ll receive an online diagnosis and treatment plan via MyChart message from a Rush provider. If you need prescriptions, they’ll be sent directly to your pharmacy.

Virtual visits are not for emergencies. If you have an urgent medical need, call 911 — or visit your nearest emergency department or urgent care facility.
We’ve recently updated our payment process and insurance coverage for E-Visits. Your payment will be determined after your visit based on your care and insurance plan. We may bill you and/or your insurance for the relevant amount after your appointment. You may be charged a copay that you can choose to pay at the time of your visit or later.
All questionnaires are reviewed by Rush providers — doctors or advanced practice providers. The name of the provider who reviews your E-Visit will be listed on your online diagnosis and treatment plan.
You’ll be treated by the Rush provider who is available at the moment you need care. Your regular primary care provider will have access to your diagnosis and treatment plan in your medical record.
Depending on how you respond to certain questions about your condition, you may be advised to seek in-person care. Additionally, if you complete and submit your E-Visit but your provider deems your condition inappropriate for a virtual visit, they’ll let you know via a MyChart message and you’ll receive a call within two business days to assist you in setting up an appointment. In this case, you will not be billed for your E-Visit.
Yes. Your provider can prescribe medications if you need them and send the online prescriptions directly to the pharmacy of your choice.
You never need to use video for E-Visits, but we may need to see a picture to help us understand what’s going on for some conditions. When requested, you can upload pictures from your mobile device or computer.
