The Rush Associates Board is a group of professionals, including emerging corporate and civic leaders, in the greater Chicago area. Board members are united by their commitment to Rush’s mission to improve the health of the individuals and diverse communities we serve through the integration of outstanding patient care, education, research and community partnerships. Members serve as ambassadors for Rush University Medical Center and strive to improve patient care, advance groundbreaking medical research and education, and support the surrounding West Side community.
Rush Associates Board members have:
- Raised more than $10 million (including board events and members’ individual giving) since 2006 to support patient care, research and community outreach
- Supported 18 programs across Rush, benefitting a variety of areas — from health equity to clinical research to mental health care for veterans and their families to scholarship support
- Assisted 4,800 West Side residents facing food insecurity

Rush Associates Board members’ volunteer leadership and annual support fuels Rush’s mission to deliver the best patient care. When you become a member of the Rush Associates Board, your participation delivers immediate results and makes a difference in the lives of the patients and community members we serve.
To be considered an active member of the Rush Associates Board, you are required to:
- Pay annual dues of $1,000 per individual or $1,500 per couple
- Participate in meetings, events and committees
The expectations of active members of the Rush Associates Board include:
- Advocating for Rush in your professional and personal networks (including company involvement through matching and sponsorships)
- Participating in Rush volunteer efforts
- Expanding Rush’s reach and reputation in the community
- Networking via social hours, annual meetings and events
Note: A Rush Associates Board Sustaining Member is an individual who is unable to meet the time commitment required to be an active member but supports the work of the Associates Board through an annual gift.
